Directions from Laredo to El Saucillo

• Interstate 35 to International Bridge Number Two (2) Make sure you leave the states with a full tank of gasoline.
• Pay toll - $3.00 U.S. dollars for regular car
• Take “Nothing to Declare” line
• Go past inspection on the right hand side.
• Follow signs that say “Módulo ITEV – Blue sign, take a left.
• Go five blocks to main highway to first traffic light and make a U Turn. (This will take you straight to the offices where you get your tourist and vehicle papers)
• Upon leaving this area, you will be traveling on the same main highway following signs that say Monterrey. The highway is number 85 and it is a four lane divided highway.
• Go to first overpass. Go under and then take a left. From Visa area to overpass is approximately 6.7 miles. Upon taking a left you will immediately see a Kenworth dealership on the right corner.
• You will be on the main highway to Monterrey. #85
• At the 207.5 kilometer marker you will come to an inspection point. Follow the “Vehículos Ligeros” sign. If you get a green light you keep on going. If you get a red light you have to pull over for an inspection. Show them your papers and just play dumb. The dumber you act and look the better. (grin)
• At the 147 kilometer marker you will come to a sign that says AUTOPISTA CUOTA or LIBRE. Take the AUTOPISTA CUOTA.
• At the 100 kilometer marker you will come to a toll booth. A regular car will cost you $177 Mexican Pesos.
• Go past the airport on the right hand side to a sign that says SALTILLO/MIGUÉL ALEMÁN.
• Take the SALTILLO CUOTA toll road and follow the signs to Saltillo all the way until you connect with the main highway going from Monterrey to Saltillo. Have your pesos ready to pay the tolls.
• Take a right to Saltillo until you get to kilometer 21. You will see a Pemex gasoline station on the left and a blue steel fence on the right. Just before the overpass and at the end of the blue steel fence, you veer off to the right. It is a difficult move to make so go slowly so you do not miss this.
• The sign will say MONCLOVA.
• As you get on this two lane nice highway, you will start with kilometer marker 0. Go to kilometer marker 34. There will be an overpass. Go under and veer off to the right.
• Go up and over the overpass and head back south on the old Monclova to Saltillo two lane highway. You will start there at kilometer marker 49.
• Go the Florida bridge. Right after the bridge you will see the 35 kilometer marker. Just before the next curve to the right you will see a huge El Saucillo Centro de Campamentos y Convenciones sign on the left hand side. Take a left on a dirt road there.
• Go one kilometer and you will come to a cattle guard.
• You have just arrived at El Saucillo. Take the gravel road to the second road to the left and go left. That is the U. Go down to the Hogan and unload and then park your vehicles in our parking lot that you just passed upon entering the U.
